Overview
SpekCheck provides browser-based diagnostics. Most diagnostic information stays in your browser. If you choose to purchase an Advanced Plan, limited checkout and entitlement information is processed by our payment providers and purchase database as described below.
Browser-Local Data
SpekCheck may store the following information in your browser's local storage:
- Saved browser-signal snapshots and analytics history you create
- Theme, display, notification, and other local preferences
- A randomly generated browser-profile ID used to associate a verified entitlement with that browser profile
- A local reference to a server-verified Stripe Checkout Session
The browser-profile ID is opaque and randomly generated. It is not a MAC address, hardware serial number, or cross-site fingerprint.
Browser Signals
Depending on browser support, SpekCheck can display coarse signals such as logical processor count, an approximate device-memory hint, WebGL renderer information, connection estimates, screen properties, and this site's origin-storage quota. These signals are used in the page that requested them and are not OS-level hardware inventory.
Payments and Entitlements
If you start checkout, SpekCheck sends your email address, selected product, browser-profile ID, and approved return URL to our server. Our server creates a Stripe Checkout Session and stores a purchase record containing your email, product, amount, payment status, Stripe session ID, and browser-profile ID.
- Stripe processes payment details under Stripe's own privacy terms.
- SpekCheck does not receive or store your complete card number.
- The browser-profile ID is used to prevent a local entitlement from being activated by an unrelated browser profile.
- Payment records may be retained for entitlement recovery, refunds, accounting, fraud prevention, and legal obligations.
Analytics and Server Logs
SpekCheck does not use Google Analytics or cross-site advertising trackers in the maintained launch experience. Hosting, payment, and database providers may process ordinary request metadata such as IP address, user agent, timestamps, and error logs for security and service operation. Optional first-party product analytics must remain disabled unless the product enables it with an appropriate notice and consent flow.
Cookies and Local Storage
The maintained browser-diagnostics experience uses local storage for the local data described above. Stripe Checkout may use cookies or similar technologies according to Stripe's policies when you leave SpekCheck for checkout.
Data Sharing
We do not sell personal information. Information is shared only with service providers needed to operate hosting, payment processing, purchase storage, security, and support, or when required by law.
Your Choices
- Local data: Use Settings or your browser controls to export or delete supported local app data.
- Checkout: You can use the free browser features without starting a payment.
- Purchase records: Contact us to request access, correction, or deletion where applicable. Some records may need to be retained for legal or accounting reasons.
- Browser permissions: You can restrict browser APIs through browser settings; unavailable signals will be shown as unsupported or unavailable.
Security and Limitations
We use server-side Stripe verification and signed webhooks for payment status. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, and clearing browser storage can remove the local profile ID needed for automatic entitlement restoration.
Policy Changes
We will update this policy before enabling materially different collection such as accounts, cloud synchronization, community profiles, advertising networks, or additional analytics.
