SpekCheck basics
What SpekCheck can inspect
SpekCheck displays signals exposed by your browser, such as logical processor count, an approximate memory hint, WebGL renderer information, connection estimates, screen properties, and this site's origin-storage quota. Support varies by browser, so an unavailable value is shown honestly rather than guessed.
What SpekCheck cannot inspect
A normal webpage cannot read your Windows registry, installed drivers, startup applications, complete process list, physical disk inventory, temperatures, hardware serial numbers, or real system-wide CPU and GPU utilization. SpekCheck cannot clean, repair, optimize, uninstall, or modify those parts of your computer.
Start with the browser snapshot
- Open the SpekCheck homepage and allow the browser signals to load.
- Open Browser Dashboard for a live, current-session view.
- Use Snapshot History when you want to save a browser-local snapshot.
- Read Performance Tips for general guidance you can apply yourself.
Frequently asked questions
Why does a field say “Not supported” or “Not available”?
Browsers intentionally restrict many device details for privacy and security. Browser and operating-system support also differs. SpekCheck leaves the value unavailable instead of inventing a replacement.
Is the storage value my physical disk size?
No. It is an estimate of storage available to this website's browser origin. It must not be interpreted as the capacity or free space of your SSD or hard drive.
Where are saved snapshots and preferences stored?
They are stored in this browser profile using local storage. Clearing site data can remove them. Use Settings or Snapshot History to export supported data before clearing it.
What is the browser-profile ID?
It is a random local identifier used for local records and payment entitlement verification. It is not a MAC address, hardware serial number, or account shared across browsers.
What does the Advanced Plan include?
The current product is a one-time $5 license for the purchasing browser profile. It covers current-session browser-signal sampling, current-session trend charts, and scoped JSON/CSV export. It does not currently promise cross-session analytics history. Checkout remains unavailable until server-side payment validation is enabled for the deployment.
Why did my Advanced Plan not restore in another browser?
Entitlements are bound to the random browser-profile ID that created the verified Stripe Checkout Session. Different profiles have different IDs. Do not clear the purchasing profile's site data until an entitlement recovery flow is available.
How do I measure my actual broadband speed?
Use a dedicated broadband testing service. SpekCheck Network Diagnostics can show browser connection estimates and time a same-origin request, but it does not claim to be an internet speed test.
